The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, under the theme “Belt and Road: Cooperation for Common Prosperity”, opened successfully in Beijing, attracting the participation of some 30 national and government leaders as well as Secretary General Antonio Guterres of the United Nations, President Jim Yong Kim of the World Bank Group and Managing Director Christine Lagarde of the International Monetary Fund. The event is set for 8 topics for discussion and talks on operation, including infrastructure, industrial investment, economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges, ecological environment and marine cooperation.
In the meantime, FOTON Motor and a customer in Myanmar, a country along the “Belt & Road”, reached an agreement and exported 1000 AUV CNG clean energy buses. It has been of the largest export volume of Chinese bus in 2017, a record high of Chinese bus export to Southeast Asia since the founding of PRC. The transaction indicates that FOTON Motor has become a commercial vehicle leader in response to the call of the “Belt & Road” Initiative.
This cooperation is an outcome of various rounds of in-depth communication. In early states the customer in Myanmar not only conducted investigations over FOTON Motor’s R&D, production and manufacturing capacity, but also communicated with various large public transportation entities, including Beijing Public Transport Group, to evaluate the operations of AUV bus, laying a favorable foundation for the cooperation. All the buses will be used in the public transportation systems of Rangoon, and help provide support for the city’s overall improvement and upgrade in the public transportation system. By far, 400 FOTON AUV clean energy buses have arrived at Rangoon Port.

As a bus brand forged with leading core technology of power of FOTON Motor, FOTON AUV bus is divided into three major series of urban, intercity and school buses, fueled by diesel, NG and new energy, with a focus on new energy. They boast three core technologies including the Internet of Vehicles and automatic drive, taking energy conservation, emission reduction and high efficiency as the core objectives.
The transaction is just a beginning. In recent years, FOTON AUV Bus has followed the direction of the “Belt & Road” Initiative, and turned the previously export-oriented overseas expansion into provision of all-round green transport solutions, which include integrated green bus, congestion relief and environmental improvement. Overseas strategy serves as a key link in the brand strategies of FOTON AUV. By erecting plants in North America and Europe, which are known for their state-of-the-art technologies of bus, and setting up overseas operations center, FOTON AUV Bus has gradually shaping up its global industrial operations network. In the meantime, FOTON AUV Bus will also support the “Belt & Road” Initiative by promoting “Made in China” to wide coverage of the world. FOTON AUV Bus is striving to build an image of “green and high quality bus” in the international community.
