On March 25, a grand ceremony was held at the headquarter of Foton in Beijing to mark the delivery of 2,790 units new energy buses to their customer, Beijing Public Transport Group. With the addition of such a large number of new Foton buses, the total number of Foton new energy buses in operation in Beijing is approaching 10,000 units.
At the delivery ceremony, Kong Lei, Deputy Director of Beijing Information and Economy Bureau, pointed out that such a large number of Foton new energy buses will inject new dynamics to the upgrading and transformation of the public transport system in Beijing.
Zhu Kai, General Manager of Beijing Public Transport Group, speaks highly of his company’s cooperation with Foton, saying the two parties will continue to deepen their cooperation to cut carbon emissions in the capital area. According to Zhu, Beijing Public Transport Group purchased a total number of 6,466 units Foton AUV buses from 2016 to 2018 with a total value of 10.1 billion RMB.
As one of the leading players in China’s new energy bus industry, Foton has made impressive achievements in terms of technological innovation and commercialization of new energy vehicles in the past decade.
Thanks to its hard work, Foton sold 83,177 units vehicles and sold 67,172 units vehicles in the first two months this year, up by 17.02% and 17.5% respectively.
